Ekoro (えころ) is an angel in training and is a student at Angel Academy. She makes her first appearance as a supporting character in the PS3 port of Gal*Gun, where she aids Tenzou and Patako during the events of Doki Doki Carnival. In Gal*Gun: Double Peace, she is tasked with helping Houdai Kudoki find his true love as part of her final exams.
Appearance[]
Ekoro has light blue hair tied with ponytails and some white hairclips. She wears her summer Angel Academy uniform with a blue tie and skirt, blue and pink shoes with left and right wings on it, and two pink bracelets on her arms. As an angel, she has a glowing pink halo above her head, and pink wings on her back.

Abilities[]
Due to being an angel trainee, Ekoro naturally possesses the power of flight, but she can also grant this capability to others via "Ekoro Magic", albeit for a limited time. As an angel, she is only visible to humans who possess a great degree of spiritual power. She wields the Desert Angel, dual pistols that can be charged to up to 32 times their regular power. Only a regular shot is needed to give humans a healthy amount of popularity, however. The pistol specs are 8 inches with 20 cm barrels, and are compatible with alternate ammo types (such as angel arrows and paintballs). Due to the high power and recoil, the Desert Angel is difficult to aim accurately, and required a great deal of practice to master.
Like Patako, she can activate the Doki Doki Field, a strange space which enhances the effects of the Pheromone Shot. In her boss fight, she can summon Mr. Happinesses as her own minions to attack the player. In her playable appearance in Mighty Gunvolt, Ekoro can charge up her guns to fire shots that can convert enemies to allies in battle. In her boss fight in Double Peace and her appearance in Blaster Master Zero's DLC, she can perform a powerful dropkick called "Ekoro Kick".
Personality[]
In Gal*Gun, she views humans with some amount of contempt, often belittling Tenzou for his shortcomings. However, she is surprisingly easy to fluster, and is willing to go along with Patako's antics despite her protests.
One year later, Ekoro has a rather straightforward, no-nonsense attitude during Double Peace. She takes pride in her heritage from an influential angel family, and thus often refers to herself as an "elite angel". Despite her lofty upbringing, her way of speaking is rather unrefined thanks to Patako's influence. She is very reluctant to admit to her own mistakes and faults. However, if she's caught off guard, Ekoro can act rather shy or flustered. Kurona in particular brings out her immature side. As of late, she has come to view humans in a more positive light.
She deeply admires Patako, and is defensive about any criticism aimed towards her.
Gameplay[]
In Double Peace's gameplay, Ekoro is the one who triggers Doki Doki Mode and Final Doki Doki Mode. In addition, she acts as a sort of navigator, calling out the directions of incoming girls when a "Warning!" event happens. She is the final boss of her own route.
Story[]
Gal*Gun (Returns): Doki Doki Carnival[]
After any true end route in Gal*Gun, Ekoro arrives Tenzou's house with the expectation that Patako had explained the side effects of the Popul-aura. Upon learning that she hadn't, Ekoro explains that the Cupid's Arrow isn't currently what's binding Tenzou's relationship, but instead his own efforts. Additionally, Tenzou is currently despised by all girls (and female animals). Thus, if his girlfriend falls out of love with him, he faces the threat of never having a relationship again.
After Patako devises Operation DDC (Doki Doki Carnival), Ekoro follows Patako and Tenzou around to see if Patako's on-the-spot plan will be a success. She and Patako have different conversations depending on which path Tenzou takes for the operation.
Eventually, Tenzou is confronted by his girlfriend and the other heroines regarding his actions. She and Patako tell him that if their presence is known, they have to report back to Heaven and the operation can't be completed.
The final step of DDC requires Tenzou to use the Doki Doki Field on Patako. Ekoro is vehemently against the idea, not wanting Tenzou to "dirty" Patako with his eyes. Hearing this, Tenzou accuses Ekoro of having a dirty mind, calling her "Erotiko" (Eroko) and flustering her. The final outcome depends on Tenzou's choice.
Gal*Gun: Double Peace[]
Ekoro was given what should have been a simple task for her graduation exam: shoot Houdai Kudoki with a love arrow to help him find his true love. She calls the Goddess and confirms that she has the correct target. However, she notices Kurona, a Demon Academy student, plotting to target Houdai for a prank. In a panic, she pulls the trigger while neglecting to disable her charge shot, causing Houdai to be hit with 32 times the normal power required. While she refuses to directly admit fault of the situation, Ekoro now has to help Houdai find his true love before sundown, or his chances at love will be lost forever.
Shinobu Route[]
While Shinobu is under the influence of Kurona's dark power, Ekoro determines the reason she was vulnerable to possession was that she had taken off her enchanted bell while changing clothes. She commands Houdai to obey Shinobu's demands, and then places the bell back on her while she is distracted.
Maya Route[]
Upon learning that his destined lover is Shinobu, Ekoro is asked by Houdai whether the possibility of the angel's arrow influencing his feelings holds any merit. Ekoro challenges this notion by saying, "If I said yes, what would you do?". Upon hearing that he wouldn't let fate affect his feelings for Maya, Ekoro assures that the arrow has no such effect, and that if it did, he'd be acting like a womanizer towards all the girls who were pursuing him. She reminds Houdai of her previous words, "Are you happy if another person decides your life for you? Just think for a second. Who do you like the most? Who do you LOVE the most?!". She encourages him to decide his own destiny, asserting that fortune-telling is comparable to a weather report: It's not guaranteed to predict what will happen, just what's the most likely outcome. Moved by her sincere advice, Ekoro is acknowledged by Houdai as an "elite angel".
When Ekoro and Houdai confront Maya to affirm that the feelings are genuine, Maya accuses Ekoro of deception. She believes that the angel is influencing Houdai, cheating him and Shinobu out of their destined happy ending. After Maya's defeat and a scolding from Shinobu, Maya's Guardian is weakened enough for Ekoro to successfully trigger the Final Doki Doki Field.
True Ending[]
As Ekoro leaves to go back to heaven, Maya apologizes for her behavior towards the angel. Having been the culprit for Houdai's dire situation to begin with, she believes the apology to be unnecessary. However, Houdai thanks her despite this, due to having to face his feelings head on and becoming lovers with Maya as a result. She wishes an Angel's Blessing upon the two, and bids them goodbye.
When she travels a good distance away from the newly formed couple, she contacts the Goddess to confirm the completion of her assignment. Out of curiosity, Ekoro inquires about who Houdai's "destined person" was. The Goddess, puzzled, states that Ekoro should already know that the power of the Angel Arrow should naturally lead the target to whoever their destined lover is. Humoring Ekoro's request, she remembers that "Shinobu Kamizono" was the destined one. However, upon checking, "Maya Kamizono" is what is now read, and the Goddess shrugs this discrepancy as a lapse in memory. While Ekoro lightheartedly affirms this answer, she knows that the Goddess has an excellent memory and realizes that destiny had indeed been altered.
Ekoro remembers what she had told Houdai back then: "Are you happy if another person decides your life for you?" She asserted that under the assumption that fate would guide him to his destined person regardless of his actions. Because Houdai managed to forge his own destiny, she acknowledges that humans are stronger than she gave them credit for. However, she becomes concerned about the possibility of punishment if the Goddess discovers this divergence, potentially losing her angelic powers "like a certain someone else". She takes the optimistic view that, supposing that it does happen, she could meet Houdai and the Kamizono sisters once again. Upon this epiphany, she departs back to the heavens.
Sisters Route[]
Upon hearing Houdai's desire to enter a relationship with both of the Kamizono sisters, Ekoro is hesitant but, left with little choice, does her best to support it. Her attempt to use the Doki Doki Field on the siblings fails because of a combination of having to use it on two people at once as well as the Heart Guardians protecting the two.
It is later revealed that Maya was capable of seeing Ekoro the whole time; she just did not speak up on the matter because she didn't have a good chance to.
After the Kamizono sisters perform a ritual in an attempt to communicate with her, Shinobu jumps off the school roof believing that the angels will grant her the ability to fly. Ekoro saves Shinobu by temporarily granting her an angel's wings with "Ekoro Magic", allowing her to land back on the roof safely. When neither of the sisters are present, she tells Houdai that the ritual was actually useless.
At the Forbidden Room, she voices approval towards prioritizing hunting down Kurona, as the devil girl could be a major obstacle towards her and Houdai's goals.
Angel and Demon Route[]
The sisters leave before Houdai can make a decision, so Ekoro and Houdai are left with no clear path to follow. With the sisters' absence, Kurona appears out of hiding, unaware that Ekoro and Houdai are still present. When the two notice each other, Ekoro and Kurona immediately get into an argument, each accusing the other of getting in the way of their assignments. They then begin insulting each other, with Ekoro pointing out that Mischief Marker stamp sheets are only assigned to those that are taking make-up lessons. After Kurona leaves to continue her assignment, Ekoro wants to follow Kurona to teach her a lesson. But upon being reminded of Houdai's plight, she apologizes for getting carried away, although she remarks that if they encounter the demon girl again, she still wants to punish her.
The two encounter the Kamizono sisters again, who turn down Houdai's offer to help. Ekoro questions why he'd help them despite his urgent mission, and tells Houdai that he can properly apologize to the Shinobu tomorrow.
Later on the roof, the duo encounter Kurona, who had used her demonic power to possess Shinobu. After Shinobu is freed from her influence, Shinobu lashes out at Houdai out of frustration and leaves. Ekoro begins to believe that Shinobu may have been his destined one, and worries that with her out of the picture, Houdai may be low on options. However, Ekoro also concludes that Kurona's demon spear, being the opposite in nature to that of an angel's arrow, should be able to cancel out the effects of the Popul-aura. Thus, if he's stabbed with it, Houdai will return to normal and his future love life will no longer be at risk. She doesn't like this strategy, but left with little choice, she and Houdai agree to give it a shot.
Ekoro denies having a grudge against Kurona despite her earlier comments, but upon encountering her once again, the two immediately bicker. Kurona refuses to stop doing mischief until she fills her stamp sheet, and takes off to the school track. By the time she and Houdai catch up, Kurona already has Maya under her control, who she forces to fight Houdai.
After Maya is freed from the possession, Kurona is backed into a corner and breaks down into tears. Upon learning that Kurona will be punished if she fails her make-up exam, Ekoro feels sympathy for the demon girl, remembering that Patako had undergone a similar punishment herself. A new friendship seems to form between angel and demon, and Ekoro pleads for Houdai to help Kurona with her make-up exam.
Ekoro Route[]
After Houdai agrees to help out, Ekoro promises to supervise Kurona to make sure her pranks remain safe. However, in return, she makes Kurona promise to stab Houdai with her demon spear, to which she gladly agrees. Kurona tells the duo to meet her at the school pool and takes off before either can ask questions.
Ekoro and Houdai arrive at the pool right before Kurona's patience begins to run out. Kurona explains that they'll be doing the "panty thief" trick, to which Ekoro heavily protests against. Kurona promises to return them after getting the stamps she needs, and upon Houdai's reminder that he needs the spear's power, she reluctantly supervises them. However, this prank seemingly isn't enough to fill up the stamp sheet, and Kurona hurries off to perform her next prank without explanation. Ekoro begins to have difficulty focusing on her supervision, which Houdai notices. She dismisses his concerns and tells him to focus on finding Kurona.
The two see Kurona on the school roof with Mr. Demon Balloon, preparing for her next prank. Ekoro puts her foot down and swears to stop her. Ekoro attempts to take down Mr. Demon Balloon in a single shot, but gets captured instead. Kurona commands her minion to stop, but it refuses to listen to her commands out of excitement. Ekoro gets swallowed whole by the demon, but thanks to Houdai's efforts, it is defeated with her mostly unharmed. Ekoro feels tired and dizzy, but again dismisses Houdai's concerns.
Ekoro asks Kurona if her stamp sheet had been filled out yet, and is puzzled when it seemingly isn't. Upon closer inspection, she realizes that Kurona was looking at the sheet from the inside out, and has over the required amount of stamps. Kurona panics at the potential for being punished, but Ekoro assures her that there is a way to "cheat" back to the right amount. By performing good deeds, the amount of stamps will decrease, and it just so happens that stabbing Houdai with the demon spear would remove the right amount.
However, Ekoro suddenly falls ill and collapses, and is rushed to the infirmary by Houdai and Kurona. Patako appears and reassures Ekoro before explaining the situation: because Ekoro had helped Kurona with her misdeeds, "dark power" had accumulated inside her body. If the dark power is left untreated, Ekoro would become a fallen angel. As a part of the treatment, Patako requests for Ekoro to be taken to the school roof, the closest part of the academy to Heaven.
Once they arrive at the roof, Ekoro awakens, but the dark power consumes her far faster than expected and she begins to go berserk. She accuses Houdai of attempting to "steal" Patako from her, claiming that Patako belongs to her alone and that she'd kill anyone who would get in her way. Ekoro forces Houdai to fight her, but is defeated with the power of the Pheromone Shot.
True Ending[]
Ekoro returns to normal, and she apologizes for Houdai for her behavior. When Houdai asks if she loves Patako, she fervently denies it, claiming that she merely admires her and that the dark power had made her obsessed. She sheepishly admits that she doesn't hate Houdai. This prompts Patako to poke fun at her, noting that she had used to despise humans.
Kurona joins in the conversation and initially feels dejected about being forgotten. Afterwards, she stabs Houdai with the demon spear right in the butt, negating Houdai's Popul-aura. Kurona bids them farewell and leaves. Ekoro asks Houdai if he's alright and apologizes for telling Kurona to stab him in the butt earlier.
Patako notices Ekoro's sudden concern for Houdai and concludes that she's affected by Houdai's "Pheromone Power" now. Ekoro suddenly is nudged into him by Patako, catching her off guard and flustering her when she's face to face with him. Ekoro feels under the weather; not from the dark power from earlier, but instead from a feeling that she doesn't know. Now that her exam is finished, she'll have to return to Heaven. However, upon learning that Houdai would miss her, she asks if she could visit him occasionally, under the pretense of still needing to help him find a girlfriend. Houdai accepts, with Patako reminding her of the risk of doing so. Ekoro looks forward to seeing Houdai more in the future, and the story ends.
Good Ending[]
Ekoro returns to normal and apologizes to Houdai and Patako for her behavior. She questions how Patako had remained unaffected by Houdai's Popul-aura, and Patako reveals that her concern for her had outweighed the aura's power, which leaves Ekoro touched. However, because that worry had come to an end, Patako's resistance erodes completely and she falls madly in love with Houdai. Ekoro briefly panics before realizing Kurona was still present and pleads for her to use the demon spear. Unfortunately, Kurona had felt ignored and forgotten in the midst of the situation, and ignores her pleas out of dejection. The story ends with the chaos continuing to unfold.
Bad Ending[]
On his way to the rooftop, Houdai had dropped Ekoro without noticing. By the time he and Patako realize this blunder, a very angry berserk Ekoro arrives. With the dark power irreversibly corrupting her, Ekoro swears to end the both of them.

However, this love letter was merely a prank from Kurona, leaving the duo with no time left in their search. As a result, Ekoro has failed her graduation exam. She subsequently fails her make-up exams, and thus is transformed into a human as punishment. The story ends with her living with Houdai.

Her life's work is to look after and take care of Patako.

Her unique traits include being able to shoot four shots at a time instead of three, possessing the ability to hover, and a charge shot that can convert defeated foes into allies. When she is the one fighting Mr. Demon Plant Jr., Maya Kamizono is trapped in the cage above.

Ekoro returns as a DLC character in Mighty Gunvolt Burst / Gal*Gunvolt Burst, in which her scenario takes place after the events of Double Peace. Additionally, she is a supporting character for Tenzou Motesugi's playable appearance in the game, which takes place between Gal*Gun and Double Peace.

Website Story Summary[]
For Ekoro, there was no one she admired more than Patako, her upperclassman at the Angel Academy. So when Patako recommended a game for Ekoro, she was ready to play. Even though Ekoro was no gamer, she felt her heart race as she put on the special HMD (Head Mounted Display) and entered the game world. Who knows if she will be able to finish the game though...
In-Game Prologue[]
Unbeknownst to many people, there exists a world above the clouds where angels reside.
In this world hidden in the heavens, there exists the Angel Academy. Soon-to-be graduates are assigned a human who they must help find their true love. They must pass this assignment to graduate.
An angel named Ekoro had a bit of an "incident" with her assignment, but nevertheless passed her final test.
Nowadays, she's making frequent trips between the heavens and the human world to visit her dear friend Patako, her upperclassman from the Angel Academy who now lives among humans.
One day, Ekoro borrowed this new game from Patako that was really popular in the human world. The word was that if you play it using this special device, you can transport yourself right into the game world.
Ekoro wasn't a gamer, but Patako, whom she adores more than anyone, strongly recommended that she try it. Ekoro could hardly say no to such a recommendation, so she fired up the game.
In-Game Epilogue[]
After she cleared the game, Ekoro paid a visit to a young man's house where Patako was totally living as a freeloader so she could give the game back.
Patako "How was it?? Shooting guns and getting insta-killed by spikes and stuff feels so REAL, doesn't it?!"
The young man she lived with was in the back of the room playing the game at this very moment. Ekoro glanced over at the screen, and suddenly began shouting.
Ekoro "Eeeeek! Wh-...wha-...WHAT IS THAT?!"
Patako "Hey, Ekoro! What's going on??"
Ekoro "YOU GOTTA DESTROY THAT THING! NOW! AAAAAAAAAH HERE IT COMES~!"
Patako "Whoa!! Don't fire that in here!!"
Ekoro had grabbed her guns in fear. Patako was able to stop her, but the struggle that ensued completely trashed the room.
......After that, Patako and the young man whose room was destroyed gave Ekoro a scolding she would not soon forget.
Blaster Master Zero[]
Ekoro appears as a DLC character in Blaster Master Zero, sold for $1.99. She possesses the following abilities:
- Desert Angel: Ekoro's duel guns that rapidly fire angel arrows. In top-down view maps, she can charge them for a powerful piercing shot.
- Hovering: In side-scrolling sections, Ekoro can hover while jumping.
- Homing Shot: Sub-weapon that fires shots that pursue enemies.
- Angelic Grenade: A sub-weapon which upon detonation, causes enemies to temporarily be dazed from love.
- Ekoro Kick: A sub-weapon in which Ekoro performs her signature high-power divekick.
- Doki Doki Field: Ekoro's ultimate sub-weapon. For 10 seconds, Ekoro can freely aim against any enemies on screen.

In one of the home base conversations, Joule mentions receiving a plushie of "Angel Trainee Ekoro" as a present. Additionally, one of the easter eggs that can only found with the Mizuchi dart is an 8-bit Ekoro sprite.
Armed Blue Gunvolt (Drama CD)[]
In Track 4 of the drama CD included with the Japanese version of the Azure Striker Gunvolt: Striker Pack, Teseo summons an Ekoro hologram while fighting Merak. Merak remarks that the character is from a shooting game famous within certain circles.

Trivia[]
- Ekoro has the smallest waist out of all the female characters with given measurements.
- There is an odd inconsistency regarding Ekoro's eye color. Within the Gal*Gun games, she seems to have light blue eyes. In her art for the Mighty Gunvolt games, however, she has dark green eyes.
- Including crossovers and cameo appearances, Ekoro is the most commonly recurring Gal*Gun character. She's appeared in the 2012 release of Gal*Gun, Gal*Gun: Double Peace, as a playable character in Mighty Gunvolt and Mighty Gunvolt Burst, accompanies Tenzou as a playable character in Burst, as a playable character in Blaster Master Zero, and has had two mentions and one cameo in Azure Striker Gunvolt and its extra media.
- In concept art, an early design for Ekoro sports a more devilish appearance. This may indicate that initially, Ekoro was going to be a devil instead of an angel.
- Ekoro is the only character in Gal*Gun: Double Peace that the player cannot use Final Doki Doki Mode on. Combined with the lack of optional requests and minigames tied to her route, the Angel Route is the most difficult true ending to obtain.
- The bad ending of the Unseen Destiny route (which features her) is another difficult ending to obtain, due to the conditions requiring the player to play in a deliberate and counterintuitive way.
