Gal*Gun is a video game series of dating sim/rail shooter hybrids (referred to as "3D Eye Shooting" in the Japanese marketing) created and directed by Masanori Ito and developed by Inti Creates. The original Gal*Gun debuted on the Xbox 360 on January 27th, 2011 exclusively for Japan, and the series would not enter the Western market until the English release of Gal*Gun: Double Peace. Initially the series was published by Alchemist, but after the publisher's dissolvement, Inti Creates would self-publish the IP in domestic markets, while PQube publishes the games outside of Japan.

Initially, the series was conceived as a one-shot title, with no intentions of creating a follow-up game.[1] However, three main titles would ultimately be created (Returns is a remake of the original title, and VR has no scenario). All games share a common scenario: an average high school boy is granted out-of-control popularity with the opposite sex by an angel in need. To ward off the advances of lustful peers, the boy must use the power of the Pheromone Shot to neutralize them with pure ecstasy. The specific scenarios, goals, and characters differ from game to game.

The series has faced increasing difficulties in the production of new titles. As of November 2022, due to the restrictions faced on Sony's (and Microsoft's)[2] platforms, the status of future main series titles is currently uncertain[3], and reportedly would be restricted to Nintendo and Steam platforms at best.[4] In February 2025, when the question of whether certain characters from Gal Guardians: Servants of the Dark would appear in future Gal*Gun titles, localization director Andrew Singleton expressed his wish for this to be the case, if a new game were allowed to be made. He alluded to internal frustration at harsher platform regulations, saying "It's tough these days, it's a sore subject (within Inti Creates) unfortunately."[5] As of June 4th, 2025, CEO Takuya Aizu revealed that Steam was no longer a viable platform, stating that they have become strict about sexual issues, especially in regards to stories taking place in schools. This left Nintendo as the only platform remaining for future releases. He expresses a desire to make new Gal*Gun titles, but holds concerns about excluding the platforms of those who had been previously been able to play the series.[6]
